How To Remove a Browser Extension from Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Edge

This guide shows how to uninstall browser extensions. You can find the details below. Which browser are you running?

Mozilla Firefox

To remove an extension from Mozilla Firefox, please follow the steps below:

How to uninstall an extension in Mozilla Firefox

  1. Type in about:addons in the address bar
  2. In the left column, click Extensions
  3. Click the Remove button for the extension you would like to uninstall

Google Chrome

The steps below shows how to remove an extension from Google Chrome:

  1. Type in chrome://extensions in the address bar
  2. In the left column, click Extensions
  3. Click the Thrash can icon for the extension your would like to remove

Microsoft Edge

The steps below shows how to remove an extension from the Microsoft Edge browser:

  1. Click the Menu button

    Click the Menu button, then Extensions

  2. Select Extensions in the menu
  3. Select the extension you would like to remove

    Select the extension you would like to uninstall

  4. Click the Uninstall button

    Click the uninstall button

Microsoft Internet Explorer

To remove an add-on from Internet Explorer, please walk through the steps below:

  1. Click the Menu button

    In Internet Explorer, click the Menu button, then Extensions

  2. Select Manage add-ons in the menu
  3. Select All add-ons in the drop-down menu

    Select 'Add add-ons' in the drop-down menu

  4. Select the add-on you would like to remove

    Select the add-on and then click Disable or Remove

  5. Click the Remove or Disable button. Some add-ons does not have a Remove buttton. In most cases, these can be removed by uninstalling it from the Windows Control Panel

@Colin: I should add Safari too.

Here's how to access the Safari extensions:

Windows:
In Safari, click the Menu button, which is located in the upper right corner of Safari. Select Preferences and click the Extensions tab.

Mac:
In Safari, click the Safari menu, which is located in the upper left corner on your machine. Select Preferences, and click the Extensions tab.
